Late Roman - Medieval Fire Starter and Flint, Circa 6th , 8th Century AD
A bronze fire starter in the shape of a horse, decorated with dots and circlets; flat flint encased in lead : 37 mm and 32 mm, 21.43 grams.
Purchased by the current owner in 2015 in Vienna. Originally from Ex European private collection dispersed on the Austrian art market.
