Roman Bronze Bracelet, Circa 3rd-5th Century AD
A heavy, flat sectioned bronze bracelet with overall decoration displays a distinguished geometric motif, indicative of the period’s aesthetic preference for symmetry and order. The drilled dots and contoured edges highlight the artisan’s skill in creating intricate timeless designs . Bangles such as this were not only decorative elements but also markers of status in Roman society and in many cases given to a military personal as awards and insignia of bravery. The pattern and form of this bangle are not common in Roman artifacts, and its state of preservation and clear design detail make it a notable example of the metalwork of the period, desirable for both its historical significance and craftsmanship ; Very Fine condition. 44grams, 63.60mm diameter.
